three vegan smoothies to swoon over

You ever have one of those days where you stumble upon something totally unexpected and shock yourself by not hating it? That was me last weekend with vegan smoothies. Seriously, I ended up trying these three concoctions that I thought would taste like, well, lawn clippings, and they were everything but that.

Okay, so there’s this green powerhouse – imagine kale, spinach, and some magic potion that makes it taste less like veggies and more like a treat. Not kidding. They blend this stuff with bananas and almond milk (I know, who comes up with this witchcraft?) and suddenly, you’re sipping on something deceptively dessert-like, almost sugar-free ice cream because of the creamy texture. It’s kind of like that weight-loss smoothie article I read last month, only this one doesn’t make me want to gag.

Then there’s the tropical number – this one’s like a love letter to the sun. Pineapple, mango, and coconut milk. I swear, I tasted summer, even though my view was a cloudy mess of impending rain. I got confused because coconut milk’s fat content feels like it belongs in a spa facial and not my drink. But trust me, this one’s like sipping on a lazy beach day.

Lastly, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, the avocado one grew on me. I know, I know, putting something usually on toast into a smoothie feels borderline sacrilegious. But blend it with some raw cacao and you’re not just tolerating it – you’re looking forward to the next sip. Plus, it adds this smooth, thick texture that honestly feels gourmet. Like, who even am I enjoying this? I blame the Instagram food people who keep posting their health journeys and making us all feel like we’re missing out.

Anyway, my point is, not all greens belong in a garbage disposal unit. Some of them might actually deserve a spot in your glass, shocking as it is. My blender’s never worked so hard.

My kitchen smells like a health retreat. I miss pizza. But kinda hoping these smoothies come in pizza flavor.
