I was in the middle of deciding whether to binge another episode of a series nobody’s heard of when I stumbled over this random apple smoothie recipe. Mind you, I’m not one for jumping on health trends just because some influencer tells me it’s good for ‘mindfulness’ or whatever. But here I was, drooling over an apple smoothie, of all things.

You’d think it’d be just apples and milk, right? Wrong. There’s this whole thing about adding stuff like almond milk, cinnamon, and even some sneaky spinach if you feel like pretending it’s actually healthy. (I did. Spoiler alert: I couldn’t taste it. Good or bad, you decide). All I could think was, I hope this doesn’t taste like a liquid apple pie.
The process felt like unleashing chaos in the kitchen — apples rolling off the counter, cinnamon dust clouding my glasses. At one point, I was madly googling if you’re supposed to peel the apples. PSA: personal preference rules the day. Or so I told myself as I hacked them into the blender skins and all. I even toyed with the idea of tossing in a banana. Mostly because it was sitting there, judging me from the fruit bowl.

Once the concoction was blended to what could only be described as a beige swamp, I reluctantly took a sip. Let’s just say, it wasn’t the worst decision ever for a chilled-out detox experience. It was actually pretty good! Not like some health potions that taste like cardboard drowned in water.
Anyway, I might actually keep doing it. Although, now I’ve got a laundry list of other fruits eyeing me suspiciously. Should probably find a home for that banana.
