So, buckwheat is trying to crash the party as the ‘new quinoa’ and honestly, it’s tiring. It’s not even a grain, it’s a fruit seed pretending to be what it’s not. Everyone’s making a fuss about its gluten-free persona, but that’s like congratulating water for being wet. But what’s even more irritating is this nonsense about using it in milks and crackers. Milk is for cows, not seeds pretending to be something they aren’t.

Oh, and don’t get me started on the health benefits used as an excuse to push this thing into our noodles. High rutin content improves circulation? Great. Let’s all eat something bland just because it’s supposedly good for us. Soil health, cover crops, lower glycemic index – blah blah blah. Let’s name it whatever we want to feel superior and trendy. Why can’t we just enjoy carbs without pretending they’re saving the world?

Let’s not even discuss the taste because if I have to force myself to pretend it’s delicious one more time, I’m done. Appreciate foods that taste good without needing a safety handbook. If you’re genuinely curious about other healthy stuff, check out this blog. Or don’t. Whatever.
