So, I got this crazy idea to combine two of the most opposite breakfasts ever: crispy waffles and a healthy smoothie. Like literally, who pairs waffles with a smoothie? But I guess, why not? Life’s too short to play it safe with breakfast combos.

I started by making some waffles. You know, the type that’s golden brown on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth soft on the inside. I tried using that fancy almond flour (because that’s what someone somewhere told me is healthier), but I’m convinced it just made the kitchen look like a war zone. I swear the aftermath of waffle-making is not worth it… or maybe it’s just me?
Then came the smoothie. I mean, how hard can it be? Just throw some spinach, a banana, and a scoop of whatever protein powder I had hiding in the pantry into a blender and boom! Instant green goo. My blender sounds like a tiny lawnmower trying to chop through the Amazon forest, which is a terrible thing to wake up to, let me tell you. But the results are, well, green. Healthy, I guess?

Now for the tasting—this is where things get weird. Waffles are supposed to be drowned in syrup, not sipped alongside something that looks like Hulk’s tears. But somehow, this crunchy-sweet with green-sludgy isn’t all bad. It’s like getting the best of both worlds (but you’re terrible at choosing). And of course, I’ve stumbled upon this article about the best weird food mashups, so maybe I’m not alone in my madness…
Anyway, if you’re feeling adventurous and completely lose your mind one morning, try it out. Or not. My eyes still hurt from the early morning waffle flour explosion. Ugh.
