i can’t believe i’m obsessed with smoothies now

So, here’s the thing. I never thought I’d be that person who obsesses over smoothies. But here I am, blending spinach like it’s going out of style. Honestly, it all started when I realized that my usual pre-workout snack (a sad granola bar) wasn’t cutting it. It’s like trying to fuel a sports car with maybe half a gallon of gas.

Anyway, I found myself scouring through recipes when I stumbled upon this one that sounded almost too good to be true. It promised energy boosting, muscle supporting, and—get this—weight gain benefits.

Basically, the magical concoction includes a bunch of stuff I never thought I’d willingly consume together. There’s the standard banana and berries (which I can get behind because, well, delicious). Then there’s spinach. In a smoothie. What dystopian world are we living in where people voluntarily drink blended veggies?

But wait, there’s more. To make it legit ‘pre-workout’, you toss in a scoop of protein powder. They say the protein’s important and honestly, I’m not gonna fight the science. My friend mixes unflavored whey, meaning it might as well be chalk. So, I decided to go with vanilla. You can’t hate vanilla, right?

Here’s the kicker, though: some clever people on this blog even swear by adding oats. Imagine drinking your breakfast all in one cup. It sounds efficient but feels like a crime against breakfast tradition.

After a couple of experiments (one involving a weird mint leaf incident), I finally nailed it. The best pre-workout smoothie I’ve ever had. It’s like upgrading from your ancient Nokia to something that actually has color. Not only is it keeping my energy levels up before hitting the gym, but the weight gain thing actually seems to be not a lie (for once), which blew my mind. Seriously, it’s not supposed to be this easy.

And now, seeing my formerly bony arms getting a bit of definition is, oddly, addictive. But, let’s be real, handfuls of almonds taste like cardboard when compared to a creamy smoothie. My shopping list is now berries and oat milk. My fridge looks like a health nut lives there. Even I don’t recognize myself.

Honestly, if you told me last year I’d be choosing this over pop-tarts, I’d have laughed. But these random discoveries have me hooked. It’s a weird new routine I actually like. I can’t decide if that makes me sad or proud. My eyes might be rolling, but my blender’s on its third set of spinach for the week. Ugh.
